CA Global: Oil and Gas (Africa Positions) has a client that is looking for a Construction Coordinator. The position will be based in Mali.
Main Job Function
· To coordinate and administer the construction activities relating to a number of Construction projects.
Key Responsibility Areas:
§ Coordinating the construction activities, carried out by local and international contractors, of a number of Construction project.
§ Ensuring that the construction activities are carried out to the highest HSE standards;
§ Ensuring that the quality of the works is carried out to a high standard;
§ Administering daily/weekly/monthly progress of the different projects and reporting not only in the line but also to the appropriate Project Coordinators;
§ Actively developing the capabilities of the local and regional construction contractors with particular emphasis on HSE and Quality
§ Developing and training of Staff; this task is considered very important.
Candidate Specifications
· HNC Civil and/or Construction Engineering
· Extensive relevant experience
· Project Management skills including experience to propose, agree and instigate changes to work procedures and plans which are considered appropriate and to adequately document such changes.
· Highly experienced and familiar with civil and building construction techniques
· Conversant with computer applications (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and e-mail)
· Fully familiar with safe working practices in the oil and gas business; the highest HSE standards are expected from incumbent (STOP technique, HSE inspections, etc.)
· Good interpersonal skills suitable for the environment
