PROJECT MANAGER
Mineral Exploration
The Project Manager is accountable for effective planning, execution and delivery of the exploration program. Leads the in-country team and ensures adherence to the client’s standards.
Project Manager Accountabilities include:
· Membership of Exploration Management Group
· Ensuring the program is conducted in accordance with the company strategy
· Recruiting and developing capability to key roles
· Communicating key program results
Project Manager is responsible for:
· Preparing, updating and delivering against the Plan, ensuring the plan is maintained as a controlled document, and managing the program in accordance with the Plan and budget
· Assisting Exploration Manager in developing the exploration program
· Ensuring the plan adhere with company standards
· Ensuring the team prepares for Appraisals, and develops an action plan to close all gaps identified in a timely manner
· Developing closeout plans against gaps identified in Corporate HSEC
· Implementing management plans to address potential safety, cost, time and other program risks
· Preparing, submitting and tracking any title applications for the program, title maintenance and title relinquishments and divestments
· All aspects of target testing, including:
§ verifying drill holes meet their design intent in relation to testing Giant resource potential
§ reviewing progressive results from each target test to ensure remaining drill testing is best optimised to effectively test Giant Resource potential of the
§ verifying Resource Range Analysis is routinely updated following testing of targets
§ verify completion of Target Testing Completion Report and Opportunity Closeout Report
· Reporting all material mineralized intercepts to the Global Exploration Manager
· Conducting effective periodic performance reviews with major contractors or partners and organizing and hosting contractor or partner alignment meetings
· Preparing and submitting an Investment Approval Request, Investment Amendment Request and an Investment Completion Notice as required
· Developing program teams and individual capabilities through inductions, regular performance reviews and training
· Developing detailed annual program budget, tracking spend relative to approved budget and producing accurate monthly forecasts; budgeting for capital items and tracking spend
· Operations execution and data acquisition and in-field data analysis and interpretation. Reviewing results with Exploration Team and amending work program as required
· Assisting with developing program KPIs; tracking progress against agreed KPI’s
· Monitoring competitor activity and reporting significant competitor activity with in the Monthly Report
Requirements:
· Tertiary qualification (degree or diploma)
· MBA or equivalent an advantage
· Previous proven General Management or Project Management experience ( minimum 10 years)
