Function
The Commissioning Manager supports the Site / Plant Manager in all aspects of the commissioning of the power plant. The key aspects of the role are:
· Manages the commissioning MAN and other equipment;
· Liaises with manufacturers’ commissioning engineers;
Skills and Experience
· Mechanical or Electrical power engineering or electrical utility background;
· High Voltage (HV) and Control and Instrumentation (C&I) knowledge is required, HV certification as authorised person would be advantageous;
· Degree / HND / HNC qualified depending on experience. Craft apprenticeship beneficial;
· Specific experience of commissioning rotating power plant, preferably HFO fired diesel plant;
· Operational & management experience on rotating power plant, preferably HFO fired diesel plant;
· Supervisory experience in a shift engineering environment with responsibility for M & E staff;
· Will preferably have experience of living and working in developing countries and be willing to carry out such roles;
· Management and motivation of staff and ability to delegate;
· Experience of managing a Permit to Work System;
· Must be experienced in supervising testing certifying works, and
· The ability to speak French would be an advantage.
