CA Global: Engineering and Construction (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Project Manager (Chemical Processing). The position will be based in Tanzania.
Overview:
Manage multiple capital improvement projects on site for chemical processor
acting as the Owner Representative
Requirements:
· Project Management experience in construction: Chemical, oil, gas preferred.
· Relevant Degree / Qualification
· Ability to lead and direct multi-discipline contractors and labor.
· Engineering or technical background required to understand / interpret equipment and facility drawings and technical specifications.
· Communication and reporting skills (prefer Microsoft Project experience)
· Lead project meetings to collect and disseminate information pertaining to projects.
· Ability to handle multiple priorities, detailed work, reasoning, deadlines.
· Must be flexible, analytical, and posse's excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Would be beneficial to have general understanding of basic chemical processing and utilities.
· Will be interacting with multiple parties and working independently.
· Bi lingual – English & Swahili
Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage multiple facility capital improvement projects.
e.g. Milling installation, storage and process tank replacement.
Distillation skid installation.
e.g. Milling installation, storage and process tank replacement.
Distillation skid installation.
· Accountability for overall project management.
· Review, comment and communicate on design and construction specifications as appropriate.
· Work directly with engineering consulting firm and contractors to lead and manage.
· Decommissioning and removal of obsolete equipment.
· Managing the receipt for new equipment and materials.
· Procurement of specialty items / equipment.
· Manage/oversee the installation of new equipment and piping systems.
· Managing Commissioning and start-up of new equipment and associated utilities.
· Setting and managing Project timelines and controlling preset schedules, and ensuring same is communicated to appropriate parties.
· On-site safety, construction issues and resolution
