Overview of role
· Working with HR and other stakeholders to ensure the Mine’s workforce strategy is implemented.
· To manage the implementation of the Mine’s localization plan with the objective to successfully achieve the set localization targets by year end 2012.
· To co-ordinate and project manage all activity related to the workforce strategy and localization plan.
Responsibilities
· Draw up a project plan for the implementation of the workforce strategy and localization plan;
· Manage and co-ordinate all activities related to the strategy and localization plan, for example fast tracking the recruitment of the nationals, ensuring that the recruitment activity is achieving the goals set, co-ordinating the localization development planning and ensuring that all key activities are being carried out;
· Supporting HR, training and Heads of Department in managing the strategy and plan, highlighting risks and concerns;
· Manage reporting of progress to mine, group and other external stakeholders;
· Manage the localization team and liaise with our stakeholders;
· Maintain and develop relationships with relevant stakeholders to the benefit of localization, e.g. government officials, etc;
· Manage the change and transformation associated with the localization process within the organization; and
· The measures for this role include the Mine achieving the localization targets without jeopardizing production, the retention and employee satisfaction of existing employees and improvements to the capability of the workforce.
Requirements
· Relevant Tertiary qualification
· Extensive experience in change management and project management in the developing world;
· Experience in localization;
· Experience in the mining industry will be an advantage; and
· Experience in recruitment will be an advantage
· Excellent interpersonal skills and influencing skills;
· An understanding of and sensitivity towards cultural differences;
· Good communication skills;
· French and English language proficiency.
· Exceptional drive;
· Resilience and tenacity;
