My client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person for the position of Project Services Manager for their gold/copper exploration project in
Purpose of Job:
· To support the Project Director in all aspects of project services.
· To develop/introduce a project control system
· To develop the “Control Budget Estimate” and cost controls.
· To develop and control the project schedule
· In conjunction with the selected Consultant/Engineer To compile and issue “Requests for Tenders”.
· To adjudicate tenders and recommend award of contracts and purchase orders.
· To monitor and administer all purchase orders and contracts.
· To monitor and administer expediting and logistics to ensure scheduled deliveries to site.
· To provide input into the Project Director’s monthly report.
· To work in a safe manner, complying with and actively contributing to the Health, Safety and
· Environmental HSE policies, manuals and procedures. All at times considering the health, safety and welfare of fellow workers, visitors, clients, community and the environment
Key Responsibilities:
· Costs reports and forecasting.
· Schedule development and monitoring.
· Contract specifications, negotiation and administration.
· Review / monitoring of engineering performance indicators.
· Cash flow development and control.
· Identification of problems.
· Estimates.
· Monitoring of expediting / inspection.
· Monitoring / expediting of vendor data
Key Requirements
· Experience in multi-discipline projects.
· Ability to effectively manage within tight time frames.
· Interpersonal negotiating and relationship skills.
· Analytical decision making skills.
· Commercial understanding of contract terms and conditions.
· Knowledge of safety, environment and I/R.
· Industrial knowledge of engineering projects.
· High degree of literacy.
· Communications.
· Computer skills (Excel, WP, Power Point, e-mails, Microsoft Project, Primavera).
· Ability to effectively schedule work items.
· Ability to learn project control systems such as “Dynamics”
Desirable:
· Knowledge of a fully integrated Project Management system such as “Dynamics”
· authority to Hire and terminate is limited to the following positions:
Planner, Cost Controller, Procurement manager/officer, contracts administrator, Document controller and Logistics and expediting manager/officer
· You will be actively involved in the selection of candidates for the above positions that report to you.
