Drilling Coordinator
East Africa
Our client is currently seeking a drilling coordinator for an exploration project in East Africa. The successful candidate will coordinate drilling related activities, targeting key areas of health, safety and environment, logistics and supply, equipment and maintenance, contractor performance, management and evaluation. The Drill Coordinator shall ensure mineral exploration targets are safely met through effective engagement of all contractors whilst coordinating field-based operations
Responsibilities:
• Visit each rig at lease twice daily
• Fill out the daily rig inspection check list
• Meeting with geology team to update on rig production
• Review any non-routine potentially hazardous tasks
• Run weekly safety meeting with drilling contractor
• Fill out the weekly rig inspection check list
• Review preventative maintenance plans
• Review drill performance
• Review drill plan for the following week with geology team and drilling contactor on site management
• Meeting with Drilling Specialist to update on Safety and Production
• Compile a monthly report on production
• Detailed inspection of all Rigs and Ancillary equipment on site
• Compile a matrix of non-routine potentially hazardous tasks and forward to the Project Manager and Drilling Specialist
• Organise and chair site meeting with company and contractor management to discuss monthly safety and production
Requirments:
- 10 years minimum drilling industry experience
- Mechanical trade background or similar
- Cert 4 driller or equivalent
