CA Global Africa recruitment is currently looking for a highly qualified candidate for the role of Senior Operations Manager for one of its Global Banking clients to be based in Mauritius.

Role Synopsis:
- To lead the in-country COO unit of the client, consisting of Change, Operations, IT and Treasury Ops developing an integrated COO function that supports the in-country MD with key capabilities
- To be accountable for the aggregate plan and delivery of systems, operations and the general operating model in-country
- To leverage the advantages of bringing together the operational expertise and drive through more efficient ways of working
- To contribute to the in-country leadership, with dedicated and singular focus on execution and delivery.
- To represent the COO function at Country Management Committee and ensure the correct specialist knowledge is brought in to inform that committee according to agenda requirements
Responsibilities:
Achieving Business Performance:
- Ensure that strategic objectives shaped at Regional HO are translated into tactical delivery in-country with mechanisms for key measurements in place to monitor progress
- Direct the effective operational management of the Operations, IT, Change and Treasury Operations functions in-country to agreed service and cost targets
- Ensure that in-country Change projects are delivered in line with Regional
HO direction
- Ensure that Risk is strongly represented in line with the required business
focus
Driving Business Direction:
- Implement the in-country COO operating model
- Develop and facilitate planning across the clients operations
- Develop a view of change across the country and ensure delivery and embedding of benefits
- Accountable for driving the in-country business, operating and technology models
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and peers on CMC and at Regional HO to ensure correct focus
- Share and develop ideas and solutions with colleagues across the
businesses
Providing Powerful Leadership
- Be committed to championing the business and cultural changes in -country
- Provide clear direction on strategic goals, translating and prioritising them into business and performance measures
- Lead, inspire and coach a team of high caliber professionals, creating succession to key roles and enhancing the in-country management capability

Knowledge, skills and experience:
- At least 10 years experience in banking and/or financial services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
