Group Learning & Development Manager - Sudan

Our client is a diversified Group with interests in FMCG, food production and engineering.

 

Job purpose:
To develop and build organizational capability in order to drive a high performance culture and create a learning organization that will enable people to grow and deliver business objectives.
 
Key accountabilities:
 
L&D Strategy and Execution
§         Establish Group-wide L&D strategies, ensuring BU employees, managers and L&D team can take full advantage of group-wide learning interventions in order to meet their organizational development needs.
§         Provide a framework for the L&D policy, events and resources to ensure efficient execution of the Group L&D strategy.
Workforce Development Plan
§         In conjunction with the BU HR team, create a workforce development plan and group-wide L&D schedule that will support the creation of a skilled workforce to meet business objectives.
§         Align L&D workforce development effort across the group, ensuring a consistency in terminology and approaches in order to optimise synergy and investment.
Leadership and Management
§         Provide strong Group L&D leadership, developing and leading a best-in-class L&D committee and internal instructor community in Sudan thereby ensuring continuity of the people development process.
§         Ensure that organizational learning and development is closely aligned with and an integral part of the Group organization and HR strategy.
Management of L&D Programs and Learner Experience
§         Source, develop and provide recognized and best-in-class content and learning interventions for both core & functional development areas to accelerate required competency building. 
§         Source and develop a competent team of delivery professionals to ensure optimum employee engagement and transfer of knowledge during course delivery.
§         Deliver a superior learner experience for each L&D solution by ensuring high quality delivery and execution of the L&D programs and interventions.
§         Measure performance improvement results by implementing a standard measurement system (Kirk Patrick model) across the group to ensure that the learning experience is translated into knowledge and an improved return on investment.
 
Group-wide L&D project, program initiatives
§         Mobilize, lead and manage group-wide L&D project & program initiatives to achieve its objectives and vision.
Partnerships and Alliances
§         Identify and build partnerships with preferred vendors, suppliers and institutions to create a high quality value delivery system.
Financial & People Management
§         Create and manage the annual Group L&D budget.
§         Agree and ensure delivery of annual performance objectives with all direct and indirect reports.
§         Agree and ensure achievement of individual development plans with all direct and indirect reports.
§         Act as a role model and develop a clear talent management and succession plan to support the growth of the L&D team and their continued contribution to the growth of the organization.
 
Qualifications / Requirements:
 
  • CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning & Performance) or CIPD(Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)
  • MBA or further study focused on HRD (Human Resources Development) and/or ISD (Instructional System Design) and/or OD (Organizational Development) or OB (Organizational Behavior)
  • Professional Coaching certificate (by ICF, CCU, CTI…)
  • Certified assessor for various assessment mechanism (MBTI, HA, DISC, HBDI, NLP, EI..)
 
Skills and Knowledge:
 
  • Strategic Business focus to identify and address the critical developmental needs of the business
  • Project and portfolio management skill to mobilize and manage internal & external resources and various projects
  • Planning and organization skill
  • Learning design skill to translate learning needs into specific programs and delivery methodologies
  • Facilitation skill to facilitate training and/or to lead group discussions
  • Consultation skill to provide appropriate analysis, advice and support
  • Relationship management to manage relationship with vendors, partnership, business managers
  • Assessment, evaluation and measurement skill to diagnose and address problems and progress
  • Taking initiatives and challenges
  • Effective communication
 
Experience:
  • +10 years of in-depth experience in HR (+ 8 years of L&D is a must)
  • Lead (or co-lead) company-wide projects, programs and initiatives
  • Facilitation experience
  • Working with multi-national companies (Fortune 100 companies)
