Exploration Manager – Southern Africa
Our client is currently seeking an exploration manager for Southern Africa to generate a sounding portfolio of exploration projects, for copper, nickel, zinc and aluminium.
Responsibilities:
· Providing leadership in maintaining a safe and harmonious work environment for employees and contractors, and a zero tolerance for impacts on local communities.
· Managing all aspects of identifying mineral targets/business opportunities and follow-up exploration programmes.
· Mentoring and training personnel in all aspects of target generation and regional exploration, and recognising/supporting their development in areas that they excel.
· Interaction with all stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bsc and MsC with 10/15 years of experience in African countries
- Continued professional development and technical training.
Broad experience, skills and abilities are required in the following areas:
- Good communication and administration skills.
- Self-motivation, leadership and management skills.
- Proven competence in managing a variety of different types of exploration programmes.
- Some experience in prospect/project evaluation and development
- Understand the culture and cultural sensitivity
- English speaking but Portuguese would be an advantage
