CA Global: Africa Positions has a client that is in need of a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Mining). The position is based in South Africa.
Overview:
- Develop specifications that meet new market opportunities.
- Produce engineering documents to include assembly drawings, installation drawings, service pages, and engineering test specifications.
- Perform classical engineering analysis on designs.
- Lead in the design, development, testing and field validation of new products
· Analyze and solve technical problems and provide solutions that can be implemented in a timely manner.
· Provide technical support to distributors on product installations to ensure field test installations conform to appropriate product application.
· Analyze field failures, resolving technical related issues
· Meet with end user and external customers as needed to understand markets
· Investigate new technologies or existing technologies
· Initiate and perform lab testing of competitive products highlighting differences, strengths and weaknesses. Ensure that the product being developed will meet customer expectations
Requirements:
Education : B.Sc/B.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering
Soft skills : Registration as a Professional Engineer. Alternatively, registration as a Candidate Professional Engineer actively working towards Professional Registration
Experience : Experience in Heavy Engineering – Preferable Mining Project (Shaft, Headgears, Underground, Plants)
