Resource Evaluator - Exploration
West Africa
Our client is currently seeking a Resource Evaluator – Exploration for West Africa to generate resource block models to support BD and company resource and reserve development.
Responsibilities:
· Generate resource block models
· Set up and maintain drill hole databases
· Manage geological database
· Carryout QC on database required
· Update/reconcile geological model on regular basis
· Carry out basis geo-statistical on block model analysis on model as required
· Prepare reports as required
· Liaise and provide information/updates on regular basis
· Report to BD manager
· Assist with development of local staff
Requirements:
· Must have a geological degree
· +5 years as a geologist or mining engineer in gold mining. Previous resource estimation experience or ore control modeling highly regarded.
· Knowledge of geostatistics and how to apply theories to gold resource estimation.
· Mine planning experience in addition to resource estimation skills a definite advantage.
· Must be able to work independently
· Experience using Vulcan or GSLIB for resource estimation and knowledge of how to set up and maintain drill hole databases in MS Access.
· French would be an advantage
