Exploration Geologist- West Africa
Our client is currently seeking an Exploration Geologist for a role to be based in West Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Surveying and geological mapping
- Database management and modeling of results
- Quality Assurance Quality Control (QAQC) within area of responsibility
- Provide inputs and assistance with exploration strategy
- Scheduling and execution of exploration activities
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the minerals exploration industry together with
an earth science degree qualification
- Experience of all aspects of exploration programmes in arid terrain, including the
setting up and sampling of geochemical grids
- Experience of geophysical exploration programmes, including the provision of
logistical support for such work
- Experience in the use of hand held GPS equipment and its interface with GIS
software.
- Knowledge of the MapInfo and Discover software packages would be very
advantageous
- Strong geological mapping skills in areas of structural complexity
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision within a stressful environment and
maintain a good working relationship with outside groups
- Familiarity with best practices in Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental
procedures, legislation policies, and management systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to facilitate accurate transfer of
information in both an upward and downward direction.
