Exploration Manager- Congo

Our client is currently seeking an exploration manager to direct all prospect exploration, including scout and infill drilling and district, regional and new project exploration activities within Africa. In order for the incumbent to carry out the role effectively, it will be necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other management and geologists.

Responsibilities:

· Manage the correct and focussed implementation of scout drilling programmes to

discover resources

· Manage the correct and focussed implementation of infill drilling programmes to

develop resources

· Oversee prospect- to regional-scale geological, geochemical and geophysical

exploration programmes

· Manage district and regional scale programmes to ensure their focus on the rapid

generation of drilling targets or relinquishment

· Maintain a network of industry professionals and ensure the Company is aware of all

exploration acquisition opportunities in the region

· Initiate and direct regional reconnaissance and project assessments

· Manage exploration contracts, including, but not limited to, drilling, surveying and

helicopters

· Generate and manage project budgets on annual basis

· Compile internal and technical monthly reports

· Ensure completion and submission of relevant quarterly and annual government

reports

· Regularly familiarise and inspect working areas on a regular basis

· Determine and pursue operational improvements, safety deficiencies and

improvements in and around the work areas

· Attend communication and co-ordination meetings, as required

· Regularly discuss safety aspects of assigned duties

· Ensure all activities are in compliance with all conditions of the mining licence,

government departments and agencies

· Assign work priorities in consideration of operational requirements

· Provide training to local staff and develop management succession planning

· Provide training material to assist in technical technology transfer in many of the

operational work areas

· Provide administrative support for the General Manager Exploration

· Report to the General Manager Exploration on a regular basis

Requirements:

· Degree in Geology with Honours

· 10 years experience in different deposit styles and exploration methodologies;

experience in feasibility level drill outs will be an advantage

· General understanding of all aspects of mining, milling and metallurgy

· English language skills

· French will be an advantage
