Medium Term Mine Planner (Diamond) – Southern Africa
Our mining client is urgently seeking an outstanding professional to fill the above vacancy and has plans to expand its two open pits and to open up an underground operation.
Responsibilities:
· To formulate and maintain medium term mine plans,
· Incorporating 12 month rolling mining schedules and 5-year mining forecasts,
· To run Talpac truck and loader simulations.
· Accountable for integrity of medium term mine plans and schedules
Requirements:
· Experience of short and medium term mine planning.
· Minimum of 3 years mine operations experience in hard rock mining, preferably of a similar scale and equipment fleet, in which experience has been gained in supervision, equipment operation and/or drilling & blasting.
· Advanced PC skills and computer literacy,
· Including experience with mine planning packages, preferably GEMS, Xpac and Talpac.
· Tertiary qualification – BSc in mining engineering or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
· Excellent written and oral communications skills;
· ability to deliver results to schedule and budget;
· pro-active commitment to a safe mine and working environment;
· A strong willingness to expand own personal technical knowledge for the continuous improvement of the operation
