Senior IT Systems Administrator is required by CA Global: Africa Positions. The position is based in Johannesburg - South Africa.
Overview:
· The incumbent manages IT projects on a daily basis to ensure that projects produce the required results. This includes planning and monitoring the project, directing and motivating the project team, and creating project documentation by using a formal approach, that provides a methodology for controlling all technical components of a project.
· Takes overall responsibility for ensuring the availability, performance and security of supported services within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
· Responsibilities include managing crisis situations and bringing them to a satisfactory closure.
· Together with the Technical Adviser, plays a leading role in the development of procedures and standards for area-wide ICT infrastructure.
· Develops, proposes and recommends security solutions and operational support options. Virus and Threat protection.
· The incumbent will be required to investigate and resolve problems for services within his/her own area of responsibility, delegating to team members as appropriate
· Supports the Area Head in drawing up annual work and resource plans.
· Recognises and actively seeks ways to exploit ICT to address complex business, organisational and technical issues.
· Together with the Technical Adviser assesses their applicability within the overall ICT strategy.
· Administration of networkserver Infrastructure, problem resolution and third party escalation.
· Backup and Recovery, Disaster Recovery planning and, continues improvement.
· Remote Site implementation support and Travel.
Requirements:
Education : Degree Diploma in Information Technology or a relevant field.
Soft skills : Experience in information systems functions, including software and hardware
installation and IT service management and delivery.
Experience in supporting innovation and managing change.
Excellent knowledge of English both oral and written.
Experience : At least 7 years of post-qualification experience as a Microsoft systems
engineer in an IT enterprise environment. MCSE , MCTIP
