CA Global: Power and Energy (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Project Manager (Transmission Lines / Over Head Lines / Power Lines) the position is based in South Africa.
OVERVIEW
Responsible for the whole project, Works as one point contact for all purposes relating to Transmission and Distribution Projects in South Africa
REQUIREMENTS
- B.E / BTech Electrical / Civil Engineering degree
- PMP certification is advantageous
- Minimum 10– 15 years professional experience in the role of Commercial manager for Projects in the Power Transmission and Distribution Industry
- Technical knowledge of electrical engineering – particularly knowledge of power systems and substations.
- Finance- Knowledge of cash flow and taxation
- Excellent Coordination/ Relationship Building skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to keep team continually motivated
- Must be hard working with a delivery focused mindset
- Excellent sense of ownership and accountability in everyday tasks
DUTEIS AND RESPOSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIITED TO:
- Handles complete project from (post-tender) award stage to completion stage.
- Plans and forecasts project budget and human resource requirements.
- Ensures project completion in time and within budgeted cost
- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Implements engineering systems and controls in compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintains complete project documentation with respect to design and construction
- Monitors the progress of project and updates corporate office as frequently as required.
- Communicates with client and discusses about the project, contractual issues, contract validation etc
- Co-ordinates with sub contractors to ensure timely delivery of goods at the project site.
- Handle local purchase and payment related issues.
- Handle various business development activities like study of upcoming projects, tracking of competitor information, promotion of KEC business, visiting potential clients, making strategic alliances etc in that country
- Apprise HO in various strategic issues in the region
- Interact with local bodies, political parties to ensure smooth execution of the project.
