Job Title: Senior Mining Engineer (Middle East)
An international mining client is currently seeking a Senior Mine Engineer to lead on several of their projects in Saudi Arabia
Overview of role: To Lead and Coordinate all required Mining and Process related Technical issues. Verify and insure that all operation requirements are considers in all related engineering documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mining Resources
• Ensure the validity of minable reserves, including the conduct of surveys with Geologists to determine the feasibility of extraction.
• Ensure the most suitable method of ore extraction is adopted taking account of various technical factors affecting the quality and efficiency of mining processes.
Recovery Processes
• Ensure the efficiency of the recovery process, in consultation with all related technical professionals for the efficient and cost effective design, selection and provision of machines, facilities and systems for mining infrastructure such as access roads, water and power supplies, and protection or restoration of the environment.
Prefeasibility Study:
• Ensure that all needed data required to start conducting the visibility study are secured and available.
• Supervise and direct all needed engineering requirement with the Consultant in order to finalize the visibility report within budget and time. Insure Ma’aden Stage Gate engineering related requirements are satisfied.
• Lead all technical reviews related to Mining and Process and insure that all operation requirements are well defined in the Scope of Work.
Environment Sensitivity
• Review the analysis of environmental sensitivities such as process being used, waste, chemicals, environmental, cultural, geo-political sensitivities etc.
• Operation
• Keep very close contacts with operation at all levels to ensure that opertion requirements and Technical Lesson Learned are considered in the design.
• Health, Safety and Environment
• Ensure appropriate actions are taken to meet health, safety guidelines, procedures and regulations and environmental conditions within approved norms and standards.
Management Reports
• Review daily and monthly engineering reports and provide Management with appropriate commentary and recommendations for decision making.
• Standard Operating Procedures
• Ensure that all latest practices and procedures are reviewed periodically and improved to meet operational objectives for the safe and efficient running of the mines.
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent with knowledge of international mining operations and technologies.
• Management skills, problem solving skills, optimising skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, PC literacy, Achievement orientation, ability to work under stress.
