Our client is currently seeking a Site Community Relations Superintendent for their operations in West Africa
Responsibilities:
- Implementation of community relations strategies
- Effective management of the organization’s relationship with local level government and communities
- To ensure, monitor and report progress and issues as well as to ensure site compliance with all applicable law, regulations, corporate guidelines and standards
- Commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
- Provide direction to operations on site for all community relations issues
- Establish a monitoring program and conduct periodic audits, reviews and other risk assessments related to socio-economic development and sustainability
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in a mine-related discipline
- Must be fluent in French and English is highly desirable
- Experience in a developing country, ideally in Africa
- Experience in an on-site leadership role in community relations and community development
- Strong project planning and implementation skills, including issues management and communication
