Processing Manager- West Africa

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership for site processing, power station and tailings management activities, while ensuring health, safety, human resources, environmental and community relations standards are set and maintained
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain standards and policies for the Processing Department and any associated Contractors or other service providers
- Implement metallurgical accounting system to account for product, optimize plant operation and allow accurate grade reconciliation
- Authorise departmental expenditure for equipment, capital, repairs, consumables and travel
- Optimise the metallurgical and environmental performance of the process plant through monitoring, test work, procedural changes, process control and innovation.
- Provide all necessary internal and external reports on safety, metallurgical accounting, operational and environmental performance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data and information
- Manage the performance and development of the processing team, making recruitment decisions, applying performance management practices and implementing training programs
- Ensure the department's long term targets are identified and achieved through planning, scheduling and strategy implementation. Contribute to the development of strategic and annual plans, monitor/evaluate performance and provide business analysis for the operation
Requirements:
- Tertiary Qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10 years’ experience with exposure to large scale processing plants in a senior supervisory position
- Current First Aid qualification and Driver's licence
