Top company with operations throughout West Africa is seeking a well versed Operations Manager to join their team.
Your main function will be to lead the effective delivery of all aspects of the company’s drilling operations in the region.
They key responsibilities for this role will be:
General management of operations for the region, including management of the operations base and facilities.
Development of positive relationships with all parties.
Proactive promotion of the company.
Involvement in the project process at all stages.
Ensure site teams are fully informed of requirements and expectations for the contract.
Ensure that contracts are executed according to set parameters, terms, HSE and legal requirements.
Control and management of sub contract resources.
Provision of regular reports to Director.
Requirements:
Relevant Mining, Geotechnical or Engineering Degree.
15 years’ experience in exploration drilling operations, of which at least 5 must be at Senior Management level.
Experience working in multi-cultural environments in Africa (preferably West Africa) essential.
Experience working in harsh, remote locations essential.
Experience delivering grade control and exploratory drilling operations in remote locations.
Excellent leadership and management skills.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Programs.
French language skills highly advantageous.
Must have previously received Health and Safety training.
