CA Global: IT and Telecommunications (Africa) has a position available for a L1 Infra.
The position will be based in Rwanda.
Skills and Experience
Basic understanding and of Linux, Solaris, Window, Orcle, MySql.
Working knowledge of the Telecom VAS domain.
Experience in installation of OS and DB (Linux, Solaris, Windows) under supervision.
Hardware experience e.g. HP/IBM/Sun server, Router and Switches.
Experience of clustering fundamentals, user addition to local systems using available tools.
Understanding of data movement utilities and file permissions.
System Processes- Understand process tables and how to stop and start processes.
Storage - Understanding of storage management fundamentals.
Understanding of disk systems (such as Mirroring and RAID).
Understanding of commands to view storage from the server Backup/Restore.
Thorough understanding of backup routines and be able to verify backups/data integrity.
Experience of troubleshooting basic backup and restoration issues.
Understand and use native and enterprise backup tools.
Understanding and acceptance of the requirement for physical and virtual security within the .Linux/Window/Sun environment.
Knowledge of security classifications and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Apply system patches and change kernels under instruction.
Mount and demount file systems.
Scripting- Understanding of the various types of scripts and the commands used.
Write and modify basic shell scripts.
Monitoring/Reporting - Possess working knowledge of which major processes/areas need to be monitored.
