CA Global: (International Positions) has a client that is in need of Transport Economist (Infrastructure project). The position is based in Kenya
Brief Description
To prepare economic appraisals for major transport projects and evaluate existing proposals to determine or confirm costs, efficiency and impacts on capacity.
Responsibilities
• Prepare project cost-benefit and socio-economic analysis of planned infrastructure projects.
• Conduct studies on the effects of local and national economic and monetary policies, expenditures, taxation and other budgetary controls on local community’s road transport needs.
• Develop strategies for transport cost reduction, including but not limited to the identification of critical factors affecting road transport costs, opportunities to improve efficiency and international competitiveness of road transport.
• Develop toll and cost recovery strategies, incl. recovery of maintenance costs caused by accidents.
• Collect and analyze data and produce reports and presentations.
Qualifications
• Masters in Transportation Planning / MS in Transportation Engineering
• With 4-5 years of experience in the field of Traffic and Transportation as Traffic Engineer.
• Candidate must be proficient in the use of ‘VISUM’ the strategic planning software. The experience level in VISUM must be reflected in the past projects undertaken.
• Knowledge of other operational analysis software like SYNCHRO, SIDRA etc is desirable.
• Experience and familiarity with TIS procedures at Qatar would considered as an added advantage
• Demonstrate knowledge of transport modeling, traffic network planning
• Transport and traffic operations and transport infrastructure planning.
