CA Global: IT and Telecommunications (Africa) has a position available for an Lead Server Technology Specialist.
The position will be based in the DRC.

Responsibilities
This position is for a Lead Server Specialist on the UNIX support team. There are two main areas of responsibility in this position:
Provide daily operational support for UNIX based applications and services and
Participate in projects to support new or existing application infrastructure.
Off-hours, on-call infrastructure support will be required on a rotating basis.
Experience with Scripting to automate administrative tasks is desired.
Qualificaitons and Experience
A college/technical degree or equivalent experience is required, with a continuing expectation to
obtain any job-related technical certifications.
Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of UNIX hardware, operating systems and application support experience including database and multi-tier application troubleshooting.
Required technologies include HP-UX, LINUX, Logical Volume Management, File System maintenance, Storage principles, TCP/IP concepts, relational DB concepts, and a familiarity of application architectures for two and three tier applications.
Knowledge of the following technologies is highly desirable: Oracle, Networker, PeopleSoft, EMC and NetApp technologies is a plus.
A demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies is critical to this role.
Applicants are required to have strong skills in customer service and computer technical support, as well as the ability to work effectively in a technical team environment using demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills as well as effective written and verbal communications skills.
