General Superintendant (Infrastructure projects)

CA Global: Engineering and Construction (International Positions) has a client that is in need of a General Superintendent (Road Projects). The position will be based in Equatorial Guinea.
Overview:
The Gen. Superintendent is an integral figure within the site management team to deliver this project on time. He will be responsible for all construction activities on site from start to finish. Reports to the Project Engineer/Manager
Responsibilities
• Efficient management of plant, equipment and manpower on site to maximize output and achieve construction time and budget targets.
• Supervising, administering and managing the work of supervisors/foremen engaged in the construction of a variety of road and infrastructure construction activities.
• Attend all in-house project meetings and coordinate with the Project Engineers to plan and resolve all issues relating to work in progress and conflicting work schedules and asset allocation.
• Resolving complex technical problems
• Resolves complaints and approves notices for correction of defects by contractors and developers
• Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of subordinate construction supervisors and construction inspectors engaged in monitoring and managing water and sewer construction projects for conformance with project plans and specifications.
• Ensure compliance to contract plans and specifications.
• Coordinates materials and delivers shortages of materials on job sites.
• Conducts periodic inspections of each phase of the construction project and prepares status reports.
• Makes recommendations regarding promotion of subordinates; evaluates and rates employee performance.
• Ensure 100% safety compliance of all crews in the territory.
Requirements:
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of engineering design and construction work.
• Considerable knowledge of civil materials, methods and construction systems.
• Ability to understand complex engineering drawings and specifications related to roads and infrastructure construction projects.
• Previous experience managing crews of 30 or more on large civil roads and infrastructure projects.
• Ability to supervise subordinates in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale
• Thorough knowledge of construction plans and specifications pertaining to the construction of roads and infrastructure including any or all of earthworks, pipe laying, backfilling, compaction, asphalt works and concrete work depending on size and type of project assigned to.
