Procurement & Purchasing Commercial Manager – Mining – Gauteng
To support the Commercial Manager: Procurement & Purchasing in the provision of commercial specialist input to streamline the procurement and purchasing function to optimal levels.
Requirements:
· Relevant B-degree in Commerce, Legal or Technical with particular focus on Procurement, Purchasing and Supply Chain.
· A minimum of 5 years working experience in contracting for
- Services contracting for Buying Agents, Transport, Freight Forwarding and Professional Services
- Procurement Site Works and Services (FIDIC) – Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Construction for Capital and Working Costs
- Purchasing – Commodity Supply/Management/Contracting and Daily Buying
· Experience at a supervisory level is essential.
· Proven dynamic knowledge and understanding of Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain and a Mining environment within an African context.
· Previous experience and success in leading people to achieve targets.
Responsibilities:
· Facilitate the process of migrating consumable material from Non Contract to Contract.
· Provide contract writing services to the business units / mines site within the Continental Africa Region relating to capital projects for site works, services and consumable contracting.
· Maintain effective working relationships with external customers and/or suppliers with a view to assess or improve the quality of the procurement and purchasing. Including the increased participation of in country supply base.
· Provide professional Procurement services inclusive of legal, contractual, maintenance of registers, evaluation of and recommendation of escalation claims, compilation and maintenance of contractual templates, contribute and compile standard policies and procedures, undertake when requested Mine visits for the implementation of standardised procedures.
· Provide technical specialist advice in the negotiating of service level agreements and pricing Ensure effective co-ordination and implementation of new technology and processes to achieve short-term work objectives
· Investigate, introduce and lead approved Supply Chain opportunities through enhancing Low Cost Country Sourcing opportunities.
