Discover the career of a Senior Associate Financial Headhunter working at CA Global Headhunters


I work as a financial recruiter within the African market focusing on senior executives.  I have about 10 years recruitment experience gained both in the UK and South Africa.

What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?

I studied towards accounting and finance and although I soon realised this was not an area I wanted to work in, I did find it very helpful when it came to recruiting in finance.

What qualifications and experience did you have to gain In order to establish yourself and therefore become  a professional  within your industry?

I have an accounting and finance qualification and have recruited in both Financial and Commercial sectors.

What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?

Without question our job is all about finding that right candidate for our clients who is able to add value to their organisation whilst at the same time providing service levels which are second to none.

How do you manage and overcome these challenges?

By always having a detailed action plan, researching the market and building lasting relationships with clients and candidates alike.


I would say it’s more job specific, placing the perfect candidate within a job that has been very difficult to fill is always very satisfying.

If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary?

R25,000 – R50,000 per month but there is really no limit as commission is uncapped.

Who is your role model and why?

For me it’s nobody famous, one of my close family members has been my greatest inspiration.  For me a role model should have strong values and lead from the front which is exactly what he does.

What motivates you to work this hard?

The money is always a major plus, but also people in recruitment tend to be outgoing, fun loving people which make everyday in the office a great one.

What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years? 

I see nothing but positivity for the African market.  It has tremendous amount of potential which needs to be further tapped into!
