What would we do without Google? For most people, its hard to remember a time without Google. Any question, any concern, any event, we can just turn to out trusty search engine. “Google it” has even become a legitimate term. Google now processes over 40,000 search queries every second on average which translates to over 3.5 billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide. Google recently celebrated its 20-year anniversary. In honour of its anniversary, let’s take a look at the most Google searched terms in South Africa in 2017.

Actress turned Princess Megan Markle took the world by storm when she began dating and eventually married Prince Harry. People became completely fascinated by her and their life together.  Answer to the question: she is 37.

South African musician HHP passed away this year, and there were many questions around his sudden passing.

8: “What time is the royal wedding?”

The Royal Wedding was he event of the year. Millions of people around the world tuned in to witness Prince Harry and Megan Markle wed.

7: “How to get pregnant?”

Many South Africans seem to have been reading up on their fertility in 2018.

The Global Citizen festival took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, and brought international acts such as Beyonce, Jay-Z and Pharrell to name a few. While the majority of tickets had to be earned by taking action, many wanted to know how they could rather purchase the tickets.
