Hello networking members, ever heard of the incredible Microsoft 4Afrika Initiative?

Microsoft 4Afrika
In terms of Africa’s current digital development and growth, developers are highly critical and relevant. The digital economy is ever increasing and the absence of digital developers in Africa would see major challenges in gaining ground and steady feet. When Windows 8 launched in 2012, developers within Africa grabbed the chance to generate innovative apps to address Africa’s distinctive opportunities and challenges.

ms5Africa hosts numerous Microsoft Development Camps across the continent for free as a means to support developmental efforts. These efforts focus on supporting the development of a lively and strong developer community. I  think is an amazing way to enhance great occasions for developers in Africa by enabling them with learning experiences and networking opportunities.

February 2013 saw the launch of the Microsoft 4Afrika Initiative and was created on the basis that technology can speed up Africa’s growth and in turn, Africa can enhance technology innovation. I believe that developers have the potential to resolve local and global challenges that countries in Africa face, hence why we are growing our investments even further towards African developers.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of Microsoft developers’ community by contributing and getting involved in any of the forthcoming Microsoft Development Camps in Africa (2013). Watch out for these camps in the following African countries:

  • Nigeria
  • Ghana
  • Ethiopia
  • Kenya
