Job Description:


Our client is one of the leading international legal practices in Africa, currently operating in Africa and Germany.  The firm assists corporations, financial institutions and governmental entities with their critical business, regulatory and legal issues both regionally and internationally.  


 


Our client is seeking to employ an Accountant to be based in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.


 


Duties


  • Manage all accounting transactions, Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions
  • Prepare budget forecasts.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  • Cash Management, Maintains, monitors, disburses and replenishes petty cash fund
  • Reconcile accounts Cashbook, payable and receivable
  • Maintains accounting controls
  • Documents, seeks approval for, and records adjusting entries in the general ledger
  • Multi currencies experience
  • Payroll
  • Tax and regulatory compliance
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Managing Assets Register
  • Maintains client, employees, and vendor files
  • Communicate effectively with clients


 


Responsibilities


  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secure financial information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;  participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


 


Requirements: Qualification


  • Four Year – Bachelor’s degree from college or University in business related or accounting discipline.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, CPA Desired
  • Bilingual (English – Spanish) skills required
  • Must be willing to live and work in Africa (Equatorial Guinea)
  • Provide excellent service to all internal and external customers.
