Job Description:


Our client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will be responsible for overseeing the financial, commercial and treasury operations of the Group and making decisions based on the company’s financial status. The incumbent will be reporting to the CEO, this position is instrumental in the formulation and execution of the Company’s financial strategy, policies and guidelines that support commercial success, compliance and related financial principles.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-operate with other Executive Management Team (EMT) members in high level decision making on strategic issues pertaining to finance, mergers and acquisitions and other long-term investment initiatives.
  • Co-ordinate the overall finance function and treasury of the Group.
  • In co-ordination with the CEO and other EMT members, contribute to design and implementation of strategic measures aimed at preserving company’s assets, driving growth and profitability and managing financial risks.
  • Support the CEO in communicating with the Board and investors.
  • Integrate closely with all aspects of business development, including meeting with potential and prospective clients and presenting the business to same.
  • Carry out the required duties associated with the formation and administration of new global business entities.
  • Identify and investigate fundraising strategies and investment opportunities and managing mergers and acquisitions.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with stakeholders including clients, investors and regulatory officials.
  • Development and maintenance of a Financial Handbook for the Group.
  • Responsible for the ongoing development and monitoring of the financial reporting system.
  • Supervise Financial Managers.
  • Oversee Group Audits.
  • Planning, implementation and preparation of the Group’s financial reports.
  • Manage and drive the Group’s budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage and drive operational budgets and forecasts by operational segments both geographical and metal based.
  • Adhere and ensure statutory compliance with International and Local regulations as well as Accounting and Financial regulations.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and Cost Savings Initiatives.
  • Drive and be the custodian of the Corporate Governance Framework.


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • Have a minimum of 8 Years’ experience in a Senior Financial role with 4 years in the metals and mining environment preferably.
  • Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) would be advantageous.
  • Qualified CA (SA).
  • Strong knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management
