Chief Mine Geologist (Geology / Near Mine / Gold / Expat) – Saudi Arabia

 

Job Description:

We are currently looking for highly talented candidate for the position of Chief Mine Geologist to join our team in Saudi Arabia. Ideal candidate shall manage the operations and production resources to ensure that Open Pit production plan is achieved.

 

Responsibilities:

• Ensures the highest level of safety, health and environmental work standards are maintained.
• Ensures that KPI Operational Indicators such as Drilling Meterage and Open Pit Production Grades are met in accordance with the set values.
• Ensures Geology open pit production activities are undertaken to support the mining operation, including appropriate measures to reduce ore loss and dilution.
• Manages and ensure grade control processes are effectively applied to the mining operations.
• Overseas the development and implementation of appropriate stockpile management and ore feed plans and schedules in collaboration with Mine Planning to ensure the optimum development and reconciliation of the Resource.
• Controls and validates all geological data, ensuring appropriate collection, safely stored and accessible.
• Ensuring comprehensive and effective mapping is completed to develop a robust geological model of mineralization and structures.
• Manages all geological works according to mining instructions of Mine Technical Office and standard procedure, provide suggestions for any deficiencies.
• Interpretation and analysis of geological and geophysical data.
• Monitor the execution of activities in grade control system, drilling and stockpile.
• Spearheads the collection, recording and shipping of ore production samples.
• Ensures that internal and external reports of Geology department are appropriately prepared.
• Supports the development and training of local nationals by providing mentorship, guidance, and coaching, leading to their growth and development.

 

 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience in geological works, exploration and mine studies.
• Strong background in minerals such as Gold and Copper.
• Strong knowledge in using GIS Software (Preferably Mapinfo), Geological Modelling Software (Preferably Datamine) and MS Office.
• Good English communication skills (both oral and written).
