Job Description:

Our client is a South African mining house who is seeking a Dozer Maintenance Superintendent, who will be responsible for fulfilling a tactical guidance role in providing guidance, support, coaching and monitoring to improve continuously the contribution of team members through systems and infrastructure design and by ensuring that the assets are maintained/operated most effectively for optimum performance within the specific area of responsibility. The role holder will ensure a standard best practice approach to equipment maintenance. The ideal incumbent will have experience with developing and implementing maintenance procedures for dozers in the mining industry.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding of the maintenance requirements of the equipment and structures installed
• Working knowledge of relevant laws, company standards and management systems
• Understanding of PM practices and associated technologies
• Theoretical understanding and practical experience in operation, maintenance of technical areas
• Knowledgeable experience in root cause analysis and reliability centred maintenance principles
• Ability to make data driven decisions
• Able to conceptualise the impact of a single decision on the holistic environment
• Good understanding of quality management systems, techniques, and best practice
• Financial aspects such as cost control, budgeting and return on investment.
• Budget compilation and control
• Safety, Health, Environment and Risk Control
• Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Control Protocols and repot all SHEQ incidents
• Organizational Learning and Development
• Ensure skills training are suitably assessed to correct any shortcomings
• Engineering maintenance Control
• Develop, implement, and monitor adherence to engineering standards and legislative requirements, taking corrective action where necessary
• Engineering maintenance improvement
• Finds the most effective means of maintenance and repairs

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

•  At least 3-5 year’s maintenance experience in Dozer Mining Operations (Open Pit)
• NQF 6 qualification/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Supervisory or management training and experience is essential
• Significant experience in mining engineering cost control, budgeting and return on investment
• Significant experience of Dozer Mining equipment maintenance manuals, component and parts catalogues etc. Computer
