Job Description:
Our client is in need of an Employee Relations Manager with a background in the mining industry and extensive experience with unions, the bargaining council and CCMA to join their team on site in Limpopo.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Drawing up, implementing  and ensuring adherence to best practice systems that improve and maintain positive relationships between all parties.
  • Ensure effective communication channels are in place.
  • Oversee Employee Wellness including the collective bargaining process.
  • Sourcing and retaining quality legal advisors to ensure high quality and business focused interventions.
  • Managing the training and development of HR Trainees.
  • Managing the Employee Wellness Programme within the company.
  • Advising and coaching leaders in the application of ER systems and strategies.
  • Ensuring industrial stability through the engagement of organized labour in the development and implementation of systems and the review of conditions of employment.
  • Consulting with clients and engaging with communities required.
  • Managing all employee related processes and procedures in line with legislation and business requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining labour law related policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Fostering a climate of positive development and the drive to deliver best possible results.
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Law or similar qualification.
  • 10 years’ previous experience in employee relations within the mining industry, with at least 5 years in senior level roles.
  • 5 years’ previous experience in unionized environments.
  • Strong bargaining and CCMA experience.
  • Well-versed in Labour legislations including LRA, BCEA, EEA and SDA.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
  • South African citizenship and current residence in South Africa required.
