Job Description:

Our client is a mineral exploration and development company with a large tenure across Ghana. They are looking for a Finance Manager who must be a Ghanaian citizen. Reporting to the Group Finance Controller in Australia, you will be accountable for, but not limited to overseeing the operations finances and reporting, life of mine financial plans, annual budgets as well as monthly actual results and forecasting.



  • Responsible for the preparation of the Monthly Management Reports in collaboration with the Group FC, which includes a review of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement for both actuals, budget, and forecast as well as various operational KPIs and industry metrics.
  • Managing Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Manage year end audit processes and statutory financial statement preparations.
  • Assisting in the development of budgets, forecasts, cost models and capital expenditure plans.
  • Ensure statutory law, financial regulations and tax compliance is adhered to for the group of companies in Ghana
  • Maintaining capital expenditure, fixed asset and depreciation schedules.  
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations (including bank reconciliations)
  • Managing the preparation of payroll.
  • Ensure strong hands-on financial controls and designing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure continuous financial and business process improvement.
  • Drive financial awareness across the operation.
  • Managing, training and mentoring of a team in the future.
  • Working on ad hoc tasks projects as and when required


Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Relevant degree
  • Chartered Accountant or similar.
  • Must be a Ghanaian citizen
  • High attention to detail and excited about the opportunity to be involved in the growth of the business.
  • Experience in mining industry in similar role  
  • You will possess strong Excel skills and be confident with financial modelling.
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment with reporting lines both at the site and overseas.
  • You will be self-motivated, resilient and content working in what is a small office but a growing business.
  • Proactive approach with a drive and enthusiasm to improve systems and processes.
  • Have strong organisation skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP/financial reporting systems
  • Agility as required in a growing and evolving dynamic company.
  • Ability to work towards and meet required deadlines
