Job Description:

Our client is a leading multinational mining client who require a Group Finance Manager to report directly into the CFO. Overall responsibility for finance function (financial reporting, accounting, treasury) of the group of companies (except certain aspects of the DRC entities). Responsible to ensure financial information for the group is accurate and available to the President and CFO other members of the executive management. Management of the finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversight of all finance staff but particularly the Group Financial Accountant, Finance Manager, Accounting Manager and Financial Reporting Manager, DRC in Sandton office
• Preparation of portions of the Management Proxy Circular, Annual Information Form, Sustainability reporting
• Responsible for preparation and submission of ESTMA reports
• Final review of group consolidation and financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Final review of monthly group management accounts.
• Final review of monthly joint venture consolidation.
• Final review of statutory annual financial statements and management accounts of all group entities.
• Attend statutory board meetings and discuss financials if required
• Responsible for meeting with BEE companies’ directors/trustees and explaining financial statements
• Assistance with the preparation of the quarterly MD&A and CFO report.
• Key contact for group and statutory auditors
• Final review of OHADA financial statements
• Accumulation of all budgets for all departments into the group budget and preparation of budget documents for review by CFO and presentation to the Board of Directors
• High level review of all the trial balances of the group entities
• Review of all equity compensation transactions of Company
• Management of Global Shares equity system
• Review of calculations of withholding taxes and payments to tax authorities
• Review of certain other group companies payroll
• Review of the payroll of Company including the final submission of the semi-monthly payrun.
• Treasury management
• Preparation and finalization of the Company tax return
• Review of income tax calculations for the SA companies.
• Review of the consolidated group income tax disclosure.
• Preparation of responses to SARS queries
• Review of SA and UK VAT returns
• Review and approval of purchase orders on JDE
• Assistance with any due diligence procedures

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• BCOM Honours or equivalent
• CA(SA) registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants
• 10 years’ experience in finance roles of increasing responsibility
• 5 years’ experience in a senior finance role
• Exposure to the mining industry is beneficial.
• Experience using JDE would be advantageous.
• Excellent MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel skills
• Good English language ability to write excellent reports and other written documents
• Good communication skills; good organizational skills; strong analytical skills; strong leadership.
