Job Description:
Our client, a major mining operation, is seeking an experienced HME Planning Supervisor to oversee and lead all planning activities related to the maintenance of its Heavy Machinery Equipment (HME) and industrial vehicles. The role will be instrumental in ensuring operational efficiency, minimising downtime, and aligning maintenance strategies with business objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising a team of planners, monitoring KPIs, developing maintenance plans, and leading training initiatives to uplift internal capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead training and development programs to upskill junior staff and enhance team performance.
- Define maintenance scope, sequence of tasks, and resource needs for the HME fleet and industrial vehicles.
- Receive, assess, and prioritize maintenance requests, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Manage and monitor work order lifecycle and data accuracy within the CMMS system.
- Track and report on key maintenance KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans.
- Prepare and manage the short-term (S+6) and annual maintenance plans and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE and HR policies, contributing to a safe and accountable work environment.
- Supervise and support a team of planners and schedulers, driving continuous improvement and technical development.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to align maintenance planning with production needs.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HME Maintenance Planning within a large mining or industrial operation.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams.
- Advanced knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning software.
- Strong analytical capabilities and budget management experience.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in mining environments.
- Solid experience working in Africa or similar developing regions.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Master’s degree or certifications in Maintenance/Asset Management is a plus.
