Job Description:
The company is a leading mining services provider across Africa. The incumbent will manage the HR and Labour functions for the company. Coordinate the development, implementation, measuring, monitoring, continuous improvement, and maintenance of the Human Resource Management function within the company. Assist with the external audit processes across all countries in the region. Assist in the development of the HR strategy and implementation in line with corporate strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manager HR functions for the group including but not limited to.
- Recruitment
- Performance management
- Executive Remuneration management
- Compensation, Remuneration & Benefits management
- Training and development
- Well-being and community relations
- Discipline and IR management
- Employee information system
- Payroll compliance
- Tax compliance
- Immigration compliance
- Expatriate local payroll management
- Manage labour budgets, ensuring all going labour reviews and analysis and ensure projects are compliant with provided budgets
- Manage new entity, project ramp up, ensure labour law compliance, contracts, exemptions from labour ministries, national regulatory registrations, and payroll setup
- Deal with labour cases, IR matters, CMA, court hearings and coordination
- Manage shutdowns including terminations, payroll compliance, redundancy management
- Oversee employee emergency management, insurance and travel tracking systems
- Full compliance with all employment document for all regions
- Manage the development, implementation, review and maintenance of HR Policies and Procedures
- Compliance with UK Stock Exchange regulatory requirement
- Provide advice on EEO issues, unfair dismissals, retrenchment and termination
- Ensure code of business conduct is adhered to and address all EEO matters
- Training on Anti-bribery and ethical matters
- Develop and maintain a workplace that values and respects cultural diversity
- Identify and provide relevant informal and formal coaching and training for the development of supervisory skills
- Provide information and advice to all operations on human resource management matters
- Recommending changes to ensure conformance and implement change
- Keep up to date with changes to legislation and industry standards
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, procedures and rules
- Travel on a regular basis
- Meet agreed KPI’s and objectives defined on a yearly basis
- Any other responsibilities and duties that are deemed to be appropriate for this position and assigned by your supervisor/manager
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Degree/ Diploma in relevant Human Resource Management field preferable
- Achievement of Training course Content
- At least 10 years HR and compliance management
- Experience in the Mining and Drilling Industry
- Diverse labour law knowledge
- Successfully managed IR and CMA cases in Africa
- Labour budgeting and compliance
- Advanced Computer Skills
- Must be fit and able to perform the inherent requirements of the job, including travel to work sites in remote locations
- Must be willing to undertake frequent travel
