Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent with experience in both underground and surface mobile and fixed plant to join their team on site in West Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing engineering maintenance for all surface and underground fixed plant, heavy mobile equipment and drills, including services, repairs, preventative maintenance and breakdowns.
• Managing and training a team of local nationals and expatriates.
• Inspections, troubleshooting and diagnosing of problems.
• Ensuring good housekeeping is maintained.
• Ensuring all maintenance is carried out in accordance with defined standards.
• Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.
• Continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensuring maintenance processes are optimized in collaboration with related departments.
• Stakeholder engagement and ensuring clear communication with related departments.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Mechanical Engineering Diploma, Degree or similar qualification.
• 10 years previous experience in both mobile and fixed plant maintenance within mining environments, with at least 5 years’ experience on underground fleets.
• Sound CMMS experience.
• Strong focus on health and safety standards and compliance.
• Experience leading, mentoring and training multicultural teams as an expatriate.
• Previous expatriate experience in West Africa preferred.
