Maintenance Supervisor (Mining/ Plant Machinery / Trade Test / Repairs) – Limpopo, South Africa

Job Description:

Our client is an international group dealing with the sourcing, supply and beneficiation of minerals, metal alloys and bulk iron ore who require a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in Limpopo. The role reports to the General Engineering Supervisor. The successful candidate will have to apply deep technical and specialist expertise to analyses data, anticipate, and diagnose problems with plant mechanical machinery, electrical and instrumentation equipment. They will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance functions (this includes mechanical electrical and instrumentation).

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations as well as assist management in direct oversight of departments daily operation.
• Involve in departments routine operations by handling repairs and assisting in maintenance.
• Maintain all machinery to ensure that it’s at working standard and create and implement maintenance procedures.
• Prepare process plans for new parts, develop maintenance strategy for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Boiler making.
• Decide on equipment’s, materials, and subcontract sources.
• Identify and debug production problems as needed.
• Modify/implement planned maintenance schedule.
• Assign, train and develop work of engineering department.
• Ensure plant availability trough good maintenance procedures.
• Plan and manage shutdowns/breakdowns.
• Develop relations with external customers as well as staff.
• Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum of 10 years site experience
• (Grade 12) or N3 Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechanical with a recognized Trade Test, N6 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Valid trade test with 4-10 years’ experience in a maintenance supervision position, or at least a valid trade test with 10 years’ experience in a maintenance supervisory position.
• Valid section 13 Trade test.
• Driver’s License.
