Job Description:


Our client is seeking a Mine Planning Superintendent, who will play pivotal role in providing strategic and operational expertise to technical functions. Responsibilities include scheduling, LOM plans, budgeting, pit optimization, design, and production integration.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the department manager to develop zero-based budgets for OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of all payment certificates from my contractors.
  • Define Mine Planning processes, systems, inputs, guidelines, and desired outcomes.
  • Establish system support requirements and ensure their effective implementation to deliver timely and accurate mine plans and schedules.
  • Lead the development and execution of processes to create optimized long-term (LOM), medium-term (1 – 3 years), and short-term (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly) plans aligning with company objectives.
  • Provide regular progress reports against plan, identifying variances and necessary corrective actions.
  • Evaluate geological data and resource information to conduct regular reserve reconciliations, ensuring accurate reserve depletion status.
  • Supervise on-site mine project works.
  • Oversee mine business improvement processes, employing both top-down and bottom-up strategies.
  • Drive the transfer of knowledge and training initiatives for national employees within the Mining Technical Department to support company goals of workforce nationalization.


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited university
  • At least 10 years of practical experience in open pit mine planning, ideally within the gold mining sector, with a minimum of 5 years focused on pit optimization and multi-staged pit designs.
  • Proficient in Whittle, Minesched, and Surpac software. Familiarity with other mining packages such as Deswick, Spry, and dedicated cost estimator software is advantageous.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
