Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Processing Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the company’s base metal processing plant, ensuring efficient and effective operations, and coordinating with other departments to optimize production processes. The incumbent will manage the metallurgical laboratory, overseeing the milling and flotation processes, and ensuring the production of high-quality copper concentrates.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate the copper ore processing plant operations, including milling and flotation processes, to produce high-quality copper concentrates that meet or exceed customer specifications.
• Develop and implement production plans and strategies to meet production targets and maximize profitability, while minimizing costs and waste, with a focus on optimizing the metallurgical performance of the ore processing plant.
• Monitor and control production costs, and identify areas for cost savings and optimization, with a focus on improving the metallurgical efficiency of the milling and flotation processes, and maximizing the recovery of copper from the ore.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the processing department.
• Manage and lead a team of metallurgical technicians and operators, and provide training and development opportunities to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce, capable of operating and maintaining the ore processing plant and associated equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as exploration, mine operations, and maintenance, to optimize the production process.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in base metals ore processing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role, overseeing the operation and maintenance of processing plants, preferably with experience in Namibia or similar locations.
• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• Experienced in mineral processing specifically flotation processes in base metal operations.
• Strong knowledge of milling, and flotation processes, with an understanding of the factors that affect recovery, grade, and quality of base metal concentrates.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control, and production planning, with a proven track record of improving production efficiency and profitability in base metals processing operations.
