Job Description:
Our client, a rapidly expanding and listed gold mining company, is seeking an experienced Processing Manager to join their team in Southeast Asia. The primary purpose of the Manager – Processing role will be to lead and guide the integrated processing teams (covering gold and copper processing, engineering, and laboratory functions), oversee the safe and efficient management of the processing facility to achieve financial and operational targets, and develop a skilled, localized workforce capable of sustaining business goals throughout the operation’s lifespan. This critical position will be reporting into the Vice General Manager of Operations of the group.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the gold and copper processing plant to meet production and cost targets.
- Lead and develop the processing, engineering, and laboratory teams to foster a culture of safety and excellence.
- Optimize metallurgical efficiency and production rates through innovative technology and operational improvements.
- Manage tailings storage facilities to ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Direct the implementation of approved capital projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Supervise laboratory operations to maintain quality control from stockpile to final product.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to enhance site performance and integrate operational systems.
- Mentor superintendents and build a localized team aligned with the company’s goals and values.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Tertiary Qualification: A degree in Chemical Engineering or Minerals Processing Engineering is required.
- Desirable Additional Qualifications: Postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration
- Leadership/Operational Leadership Development Training and recognized Safety Systems Training
- Total Experience: A minimum of 12-15 years in minerals processing, with significant time spent in a complex hydrometallurgical environment.
- Leadership Experience: At least 3 years in a similar-level role with direct accountability for multi-processing facilities.
- International Experience: Preferably includes overseas operating experience, though not strictly required.
