Job Description:


CA Mining has been retained by Osino Resources to assist with the recruitment of their Project Development Team for the Twin Hills Gold Project. Twin Hills is a sedimentary-hosted, structurally controlled gold deposit that fits the broad orogenic lode gold model and is amenable to conventional open-pit gold mining and carbon-in-leach metallurgical processing.


Osino is seeking a highly skilled Project Construction Manager to join their Twin Hills Gold Project, whose purpose is to plan and coordinate project construction work, supervise the Owner’s Project Team (OPT) construction team on site, resolve problems by finding new solutions and ensure that the contractors and consultants on site execute their construction works in accordance with the Project Execution Schedule. This is a two-year fixed term contract position.


 


Responsibilities:


  • Establish, review and approve the construction portions of organizational structures proposed for the Owner’s Engineering team, EPCM, Consultants, Site Contractors and their subordinate contractors on site.
  • Collaborate with the EPCM and other Project contractors and consultants on site to establish and execute quality control processes that ensure that the finished Project construction deliverables meet Osino/Shanjin’s operational expectations and comply with the relevant regulations and certifications.
  • Coordinate Project construction responses to technical site queries from contractors, consultants as well as from the Shanjin and Osino management, or from the Twin Hills operational team.
  • Review responsibilities and performance targets of the EPCM, various contractors and consultants to ensure that construction activities are aligned, without unnecessary overlaps or gaps in the overall delivery plan for the Project.
  • Coordinate the Handover of the completed site works to the Twin Hills operational management team to ensure that the production teams understand and follow equipment safety protocols and procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Ensure that contractor documentation supplied during the Project construction is compliant with Osino’s standards and procedures.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders of the Project to ensure optimization of the construction process and liaise with Operational Readiness stakeholders to ensure that the Project’s objectives and targets are thoroughly understood by all stakeholders and are aligned with the operational objectives.
  • Assist the Twin Hills operational engineering team with the planning and preparation of short- and medium-term operational readiness, cost and sustaining capital budgets and forecasts post-commissioning of the Project.
  • Use analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems and apply detail-oriented skills with the ability and experience to catch minor errors which can result in major problems.


 


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • Relevant engineering qualification. Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree would be preferable.
  • Proven work experience as an Owner’s Team Construction Manager or similar role in a project environment.
  • Namibian Work Permit (Osino will assist to obtain) or Namibian Citizenship.
  • At least 10 years’ experience as an appointed Construction Manager on mine and process/metallurgical plant projects, including supervising multidisciplinary construction teams on both process/metallurgical plant and infrastructure projects.
  • Management Development Programme (MDP) or more advanced programmes.
  • OshAct and Mining Health & Safety Act experience
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; Primavera P6, Bentley MicroStation and ProjectWise, Sharefile, generic ERP systems
  • English language proficiency.
