Job Description:


The client is a leading diversified natural resources producer. They are seeking a Project Planning Engineer who will be tasked with managing the project schedule for their projects, ensuring the projects are completed timeously as per the agreed schedule and report all deviations to the project director.


 


Responsibilities:


  • Recognizes, explores and implements ideas and opportunities to optimize Project performance and time lines
  • Optimize efficiency through use of existing assets
  • Communicates information to management on performance and problems
  • Support the implementation of any SHE initiatives
  • Ensure observance of legal, safety and environmental requirements/regulations
  • Control and report on any potential schedule changes
  • Control and report on any potential time line claims in accordance with the project Contract
  • Determine essential Project initiatives for best solutions regarding Study, construction and Project Plant completion
  • To be held accountable in accordance with the project approved DOA
  • Manage all formal reports in accordance with project timetable
  • Ensure all Planning document requirements are met and well documented
  • Provide relevant and specialized technical support to applicable stakeholders
  • Plan, organize, manage, control planning activities,
  • Communicate regularly with specialist subcontractors to ensure commercial timelines are in place, understood and followed at all times
  • Receive and execute general direction from senior level management
  • Manage communication, monitoring, reporting and control activities throughout the project lifecycle to all levels of stakeholders.


 


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • Minimum 10 Years Project experienced
  • Minimum 5 Years Mining & minerals related experience
  • Experience in international projects
  • Must demonstrate superior attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
  • Must be computer literate and be able to learn and use the company in house system
  • Must have good presentation and communication skills
  • Must exhibit professionalism and cordiality with customers, suppliers and staff
  • Must have the capacity to adequately handle work stress and be able to meet project deadlines
  • Skills in working and communicating effectively with all levels of project functional groups in a multi-discipline construction environment
  • Understanding of an EPC project environment
  • Knowledge of the laws and ordinances regulating building construction
  • Previous deployments in DRC preferred
  • Exposure to diverse multi-cultural settings an advantage
