Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Sales Manager to strategically develop, support, and implement growth initiatives aimed at achieving or exceeding booking targets within Strategic Accounts and the End User market across Southern and East Africa. The primary focus is to engage with key end-user clients in these regions to identify and generate opportunities that protect the client’s ISV install base, drive competitive displacement, and support the execution of strategic account plans. This role will emphasize the promotion of ISV solutions within the mining sector, ensure effective customer engagement, and commit to profitable business outcomes through collaboration with local business partners, representatives, and resellers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to grow profitable business segments, including MRO, parts, displacement, and service offerings, while maximizing revenue and returns from the existing robust installed base.
- Define and implement an effective sales channel strategy tailored to mining supply partners and resellers.
- Build and maintain strong, high-level relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across all functional levels of major End Users and EPCs in South Africa.
- Collaborate with mining project stakeholders (EPCs, FEED consultants, and engineering firms) to influence specifications and ensure seamless project pursuit and execution.
- Achieve or surpass territory financial targets, including budget and monthly booking forecasts, in alignment with the Isolation Valves Territory business objectives.
- Design and implement targeted sales and site engagement strategies for key mining installations across South Africa.
- Promote solution-based selling by conducting site visits and surveys to identify customer pain points and recommending appropriate displacement solutions.
- Develop and deliver market forecasts, pricing analyses, competitive intelligence, and strategic marketing plans.
- Actively coordinate with the Global Project Pursuit Team and the World Area Sales team to identify, qualify, and convert opportunities, thereby expanding the reach of Isolation Valves and clients Automation Solutions offerings.
- Secure end-user approvals for manufacturing locations and preferred brands to ensure inclusion on project-specific and approved vendor lists.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with senior leaders within key customer accounts to enhance visibility and trust in the capabilities of the Isolation Valves Business Unit and the client Automation Solutions.
- Engage early in project cycles with End User project teams to position Isolation Valves solutions as the preferred choice.
- Ensure strict adherence to client ethics and trade compliance policies in all business dealings.
- Provide timely updates on new product developments, industry advancements, and evolving market dynamics.
- Foster collaboration with other clients Automation Solutions Business Units to drive synergy and increase pull-through opportunities.
- Stay current with product innovations, market shifts, and emerging trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Degree in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical engineering preferred.)
- 10 years’ sales experience in the valve industry with a minimum of 3 years in a sales leadership position.
- MBA qualification is advantageous.
- Application experience in Mining/Oil & Gas.
