Job Description:

Our client, a frontrunner in renewable energy that is actively seeking a Senior Engineer in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of their global team working together towards their vision – Improving our future. As the Senior Engineer you will conduct technical investigations and implement solutions to resolve all technical matters related to operations

and performance of operational plants.

Responsibilities:

Support during Structuring and Execution Phase:

• Establish and approve technical requirements for project documentation (e.g., Functional Requirements, O&M Contracts).
• Align detailed engineering designs with learnings from operational plants and ensure full technical compliance.
• Support FATs, SATs, and commissioning procedures for HV and MV equipment, ensuring safety and performance standards.
• Provide hands-on support during hot commissioning with the EPC team.

Support during Power Production Phase:

• Conduct root cause analysis on balance of plant equipment to improve reliability, efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Ensure technical compliance with internal standards, utility requirements, and supplier specifications.
• Investigate issues on-site and implement solutions for resolving faults.
• Assist with technical matters related to O&M Project Management, Field Services, and scope of work drafting.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• B.Tech/B. Eng in Electrical Engineering.
• Must be registered with ECSA or working towards being professionally registered.
• 5 years+ relevant professional experience, preferably within the Renewables industry.
• Knowledge on the latest advancements in HV and MV equipment.
• Proficient in power system analysis tools such as Power factory and basic knowledge of PSCAD.
• Fluent both written and spoken in English.
