Job Description:


Our client is a boutique mining advisory firm, specialising in financial modelling and cost estimation advisory services for the minerals and metals industry. The team consists of an exciting blend of specialists, combining science, engineering and financial expertise to produce tailor made solutions that are not only practical, but also technically and economically viable. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire mining department and dealing directly with customers.


Responsibilities:


  • To engage with and report to management teams in the metals and mining industry
  • Liaise with other related disciplines to gather information necessary to fulfil duties
  • Compile the project inputs for the strategic business plans for the mine
  • Interpret the mining operational plan and production results to develop a monthly operation plan, Mine design
  • Scheduling of Mine designs and LOM planning
  • Responsible for the planning/coordination/liaising of planning meeting at pre-determined frequency
  • Highlight deviations to the plan and identify opportunities to catch up or exceed the plan
  • Portray true reflection of mining operations and geological features on the plan
  • Monitor modifying factors through technical analysis
  • Perform duties of technical assurance
  • To build and present high-impact results presentations


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • BSc or BEng – Mining Engineering
  • B Tech (Mining/Geology) or NHD (Mining/Geology) or NDMSR (Mine surveying qualification)
  • 5-8 years’ experience in the mining industry in a consulting role
  • Proven track record in mine planning, design and scheduling
  • Sound knowledge of mechanized mining methods
  • Experience with software such as DataMine, Surpac, Deswik, MicroMine, Microstation
  • Intermediate level user of mining related drafting software
  • Experience working for a consulting firm or projects environment
  • Technical design and analysis capability
  • Technical knowledge of mining operations
  • Applicable legal knowledge and understanding
