Job Description:


Our client, a multinational mining group with operating assets in South Africa, are currently looking for SHEQ Manager to join their team in Limpopo. As the SHEQ Manager you would be reporting to the General Manager and would be responsible for the following:


 


Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrated understanding of Health and Safety Policies, Procedures, Instructions, Rules and Regulations (inclusive of Safety Training and Safety Information)
  • Influence business leadership on SHEQ and process safety matters.
  • Fully develop, maintain, monitor and improve effectiveness of process safety controls.
  • Ensure certification and effectiveness of management systems (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 9001, PSM AND Responsible Care).
  • Conduct Safety and Health incident investigations, root cause analysis and facilitation of learning.
  • Enforce the Company's 'Code of Conduct' Advise and maintain Legal Compliance
  • Co-ordinate external Audits (Safety, Environmental & Risk Assessments (Fire)
  • Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the technical Department. Manage performance against set targets and competencies.
  • Ensure IDP's are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan.
  • Monitor legal conformance to procedures and standards in terms of safety operating procedure e.g. Codes of Practice
  • Input relevant data into plans and layouts
  • Assist in the control, management of all underground support of the mine Strategic Planning:
  • Assist with the compiling of the Mine Strategic Plan (5-10) years in underground Mine.
  • Control the Tactical Plan (<5 years)
  • Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence
  • Strong commitment to service and quality standards as well as Client Satisfaction
  • Manage SHE team performance and budget
  • Ensure Legal Compliance to all relevant and applicable Legislation


 


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • B-Tech/ Degree in Safety Management or other relevant mining qualification.
  • 8 – 10 years" experience in Health Safety and Environmental environment.
  • SAMTRAC/Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management Qualification will be advantageous.
  • I.S.O Accreditation is advantageous
  • Strata Control Certificate.
  • Blasting Certificate will be advantageous.
  • Valid Driver’s license code 8.
