Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Technical Specialist on high voltage electric drive earth moving equipment within the mining sector to join their team as a Technical Advisor on site with their client in Southern Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Technical / product support on electric drive dump trucks.
- Preventative maintenance and repairs to electric drive systems.
- Investigating reported issues, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Undertaking modifications, upgrades and testing of equipment.
- Root cause failure analysis.
- Providing technical training and manuals.
- Ensuring electrical component production quality is according to company policy and standards.
- Customer liaison to enhance business relationship.
- Continuous monitoring of services and product quality to ensure standards are maintained.
- Assisting on technical queries relating to warranty claims.
- Analysing and investigating breakdowns to identify possible trends.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Electrical Engineering degree.
- Professional registration / membership with an Engineering Institute.
- Grade 12 certificate.
- 10 years previous experience in heavy equipment maintenance with at least 5 years on electric drive equipment.
- Strong computer literacy and CMMS skills.
- Able to manage a culturally diverse team.
- Previous experience as an expatriate in Southern Africa preferred.
Benefits and Contractual information:
- FIFO roster.
- 2 year contract.
